The client approached us with a vision to design and construct a home inspired by a concept they encountered during their travels in Mexico.
The formwork for the ‘off-form concrete structure’ required CBHG Building to partner with a specialized local Movie Sculpture company from Movie World. This collaboration was essential to sculpt the roof into its distinctive shape, using foam that was placed on-site before being covered with a smooth shotcrete finish.
In this one-of-a-kind project, there are no straight walls or ceilings—every element was either handcrafted or moulded to perfection.
This highly unique and challenging design demanded intensive collaboration, requiring us to carefully rationalize the construction methodology and buildability. Our team was tasked with turning the client’s bold, “out-of-the-box” vision into reality, resulting in a truly exceptional and innovative home.
